Trip Day 46 – Saturday, March 16 – At Sea – mostly sunny skies w/some clouds – high 62
- B – worst night sleep so far – room creaked as ship rocked & rolled all night – couldn’t fall back to sleep
- 8:45 – finally get up for cappuccino
- BB – (big bummer) – we lost a lot of time due to high winds & sea currents – not going to make it to Tristan Da Cunha or Nightingale today as scheduled
- 11:00 – in room movie – HBO Ethel – documentary on Ethel Kennedy – VG!
- 12:30 – lunch – pretty typical
- A – asked chef to do Mexican theme – chicken fajitas, beans, rice, tortillas, guacamole, chips, salsa, jalapeños
- C – he said yes
- 2:00 – room R & R
- B – internet is so slow & keeps dropping me (have to keep logging in & logging out)
- 6:45 – recap & briefing – photo contest on Tuesday – 10 pictures only – 5 different categories – pick 2 of your best for landscape, wildlife, penguins, people & most boring photos – that is harder than you think for Chris to pick his 10 best!
- 7:30 – happy hour w/Alfredo
- 8:15 – Dinner w/Aussie’s Steve & Fran – always great FUN!
FF – (FUN-fact) – UK cruise mates Dick & Chris’ daughter Jo, works for the Antarctic British Survey. She has been working in Grytviken for the last 11 years and is the 1st Officer on their research vessel. She got on our ship in Stanley and spent 5 days with us be for disembarking. Her parents walked with her to the station and got to see where she will be living the next 8 months. This will be her 2nd winter here and will have a “desk job.”
