WOW Of the Week #65: Visual

Visual – of or relating to seeing.

Have you ever heard of NLP? It stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. The next three WOW’s will cover this topic.

Understanding NLP will help you connect and create rapport with your guests, customers, members, and loved ones on a deeper level.

55% of the population is visual, which means their primary means of processing information is through their eyes. Have you noticed more menus have pictures on them? This is for that very reason!

How do you identify a visual? They think in the form of pictures. They tend to use their hands when talking. They usually have an expressive voice that speaks of the urgency to complete the thought before the image vanishes.

To be in rapport with a visual, all you have to do is validate the visual thought. Key questions you can ask are: Do you see what I mean? Can you picture this? Can I show you…?

They love graphs and “brief presentations.” Keep in mind the phrase, A picture is worth a thousand words.

This week focus on adding visuals to your presentation. When we incorporated the dessert tray instead of just telling what the desserts were, sales jumped! Get creative and have some FUN!
