- The Quarry – known as “The Wall of Bones”…
…is 2+ stories high with approximately 1,500 fossilized dinosaur bones…
…embedded in a steep sloping rock formation… that has been chipped away…
…revealing the partially exposed… but fully intact fossil bones.
- Rumor has it that after a severe drought…
…the rains came & floods carried animal carcasses downstream…
…to was once a sandbar on the edge of a large river…
…many became stuck & eventually turned to rock.
- Meandering Monument Drive – offers several opportunities to see… …1,000 year old ancient petroglyphs (carvings in stone)… …& pictographs (paintings on stone).
FUN:fact – These dinos are from the Jurassic Period & like 150 million years old! Plus you can touch some of the fossils.
