On Dive Dhoni

  • 1st Dive – Feydhoo Island Wall – 6:30 Briefing – 7 AM departure

…just for the record… this is way too early for snorkeling!

…reported seeing…lionfish…sea turtles…puffer fish … due to visibility and strong current…rated 6

  • 2nd Dive – 10 AM – Lankan Faru – rated 5

1st Snorkel – large amounts of lots of fish – huge color ranges… when rays of sun catch their movements… deep blue turn to shimmering electric cobalt on tips and edges of fins… thick vertical black & white strips with sunflower yellow crown outline…my favorite…parrotfish with so many colors…turquoise & teal…fades to…aqua marine…then sea foam green… lavender fades to lilac – body turns into a khaki green color…my rating 9

  • 3rd Dive – 2 PM – Kuda Giri Wreck – cargo ship sunk for reef diving…exceeded expectations of some – rated 8

2nd Snorkel – not as many varieties… but big schools and different – deep sable brown with pumpkin orange outline…peach face w/checkerboard body…coral in muted periwinkle & glazed periwinkle… water temp went from hot bathwater…to freezing cold… as if someone turned on the cold faucet… changing currents…from Antarctic waters coming in… my rating 8

  • 4th Night Dive – Alimanthaa Jetty– nurse shark sanctuary…rated 7

3rd Night Snorkel – was told by captain I must go…compulsory – hey it’s a first for me…black tipped sharks…stingrays…one eagle ray…glad I did it… but don’t need to do another night dive …my rating 8
