Day 14 – Tuesday, February 12 – Sea Day – Cruise Day 10 – Scenic Cruising Canal Sarmiento & Amalia Glacier
- C – it’s my birthday & it’s Fat Tuesday too!
- A – 8:30 – wake up to hot cappuccino courtesy of my love once again
- A – Claudia the barista has taped a bright orange Gerber daisy to my cup & written Happy Birthday
- 9:30 – breakfast splurge of eggs benedict & lox & bagel
- C – get 2 birthday songs sung by Don & Steve & Abraham the cook
- C – haven’t needed sea sick medication
- C – no symptoms of GIS either!
- 11:15 – room R & R movie – The Imposter – unbelievable if it wasn’t true!
- A – bar manager left message that my birthday happy hour is all set w/champagne & appetizers @ The Club
- 1:00 – Thai theme lunch – stags leap chardonnay starts birthday celebration
- 2:00 – more room R & R
- A – 5:30 – Observation Lounge for happy hour & the Amalia Glacier
C – 6:45 – party starts in The Club w/Susan, John, Randy, Rita, Don & Steve - C – 7:30 – dinner main dining room – our table has masks, confetti & rose petals
- A – Don & Steve found the party store in Ushuaia & bought them
- A – chef has made us Gran Marnier soufflés (he even offered to make us a special menu of lobster the night before)
- C – 10:00 – back down to the Club for dancing
- C – 12:30 – back to room full of balloons & streamers – red rose & petals on my pillow, a birthday card & bottle of wine from Seabourn
FF – (FUN-fact) – This was the third surprise birthday party I’ve had on a ship. The first was in 2009 in Antarctica, then last year in the Galapagos. This was by far the best! The Seabourn staff and my FUN new best friends made it a 10++!
